Poke the Penguin Pins Are On The Way

Topic: GV HQ
Poke the Penguin pins!
Poke the Penguin pins being packaged and shipped out.

A while back we offered up free Poke the Penguin pins to our GV Gold members who wrote us an email and requested a pin. It took a bit to wrangle all the emails and package the pins, however we finally attempted to send out all our pins last week, only to discover they had been returned to GV HQ by the US Post Office this morning (who had an issue with the size of the envelopes we used). While we once again attempt to send the free pins out to our patient members we thought why not open up the offer to anyone else looking to score some free GV swag!

Looking to score your own FREE Poke the Penguin Pin?

To get your free Gamesville Poke the Penguin Pin, send a stamped (postage pre-paid) self-addressed envelope to:

Free Gamesville Penguin Pin Offer
c/o Lycos Inc.
100 5th Ave.
Waltham, MA 02451
Limit one free Gamesville Poke the Penguin pin per self-addressed stamped envelope. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Non-U.S. players please send IRC coupons.

New York City Hotel Tiles Floor With Pennies

Topic: Weird Wire™
New York City Hotel Tiles Floor With Pennies
The Standard Grill showcases a floor tiled with US pennies

The Standard Grill at the Standard Hotel in New York has a very unusual floor: it’s made of pennies! The floor of this upscale grill is tiled with thousands of copper pennies. We're thinking of implementing our own similar design here at GV HQ, however our floors would have to be covered in GV Gold! Visit NOTCOT to see more photos of this rich design...

Best Pet: Rainstorm-13's adorable little kitten William

Topic: Best Pets
This week's Best Pet comes to us from Gamesviller Rainstorm-13 of Amherst, MA. Meet her cuddly little kitten, William!

Distinguishing Personality Traits

Rainstorm-13 says, "This is William, my furry little buddy. Last September I moved to a new apartment so I inherited him and his sister Buttons from my Mom, whose kind heart has led her to adopt more kittens that I can count. I took in William, who we now call Bill, and his sister who are now about 9-months-old and still the cutest cats ever born. Bill's cutest trait is his love for plastic bottle caps.  I moved a dresser the other day to clean under it and found six water bottle caps jammed against the wall, just out of paw's reach."

Spam Bag: Jerald Would Like To Talk Designer Watches

Topic: Spam Bag

From time to time we get a lot of weird requests and spam mail in the GV Members Inbox. We decided the best way to deal with all the spammers isn't to just "Send To Trash" but to share in the fun of openly mocking them with you, the GV community! Today we received a curious corespondence regarding designer watches from Jerald...

______

Hello,

All you need to impress your friends and people around you is to have a luxury designer watch. Don’t worry if you think that you can’t afford it, because now you can. We offer you such low prices you won’t believe your eyes. Reply back to this email for more information about how you can dress to impress.

Regards,
Jerald

______

Hey Jerald,

Thanks for the hot tip! You've certainly inspired me to look sharp for the rest of the week here at Gamesville and I may even suggest to the team that we bring back our weekly tradition of Formal Friday. However, I'm not so sure I'm sold on watches being the only way to impress. Wouldn't a Gamesville wall clock work the same way? It worked for Flavor Flav didn't it?

Best,

- Oh! Ryan Kelley

Interview: Minnow5's Big Quick-Draw Poker Win

Topic: Members

Today we're talking with Minnow5 of Tigard, OR, who won a $130 in quick cash (a DOUBLE JACKPOT) earlier this month playing Quick-Draw Poker!

What three items would this retired librarian take with her to a desert island? And what new games would she like to see here on Gamesville? Read on...

Gamesville: Congratulations! What was it like when you realized you won?
Of course I was very surprised when I won, shocked actually! Everyone was saying 'way to go' and 'congrats'. I had to print out the paperwork and couldn't answer until it printed out. They probably thought I was rude, but then I went back & thanked everyone for their well wishes.

What will you spend your winnings on?
I'm going to take my hubby out to a great dinner. Then I'll buy some treats and toys for our 2 dogs, Bella and Bandit (editor's note: recent winners in our Best Pets feature). Then just spend the rest on whatever comes along.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three items would you bring with you?
My three items would be: a crate of books, a case of fine wine and my laptop!

What do you treasure most in the world?
I treasure my hubby and our two dogs because they bring so much happiness and love to me. I can't imagine being without them.

What does your Gamesville member name mean?
I made up minnow5 in 1996 when Gamesville began. I really have no idea why I chose that name but I've stuck with it ever since!

What game would you like to see Gamesville make next?
I love word games and would like to see some jackpots in the Gamesville word games.

Thanks, Minnow5 - and congratulations once again on your win!

Best Pet: Csell85's kitty George caught on video

Topic: Best Pets

George caught playing in his "two door tunnel toy" by Csell85
Music: Ratatat - Wildcat

This week's Best Pet comes to us from Gamesviller Csell85 of Allston, MA. Meet her adorably curious little friend, George Allston Sell!

Distinguishing Personality Traits

Csell85 says, "This is a video of our amazing kitten, George Allston Sell. He's named afer his hometown and for his likeness to another 'curious' little monkey. He's a black cat, but don't be superstitious! In the sunshine he looks the color of fudge brownies. He's a cuddle loving cat who does not disappear at parties. His most distinctive trait is that he's Polydactyl- or - he has mitten feet. Cats with this trait are always getting into boxes and picking things up in their weird little way. In this video George is playing in the 'two door tunnel toy' my husband made for him by connecting two empty Coke boxes. He jumps in one end and out the other and then back in as if he's trying to figure something out. The music is Ratatat's Wildcat which he always loves to listen to."

Spam Bag: Leslie Wants The Government To Give Us $20k!

Topic: Spam Bag

From time to time we get a lot of weird requests and spam mail in the GV Members Inbox. We decided the best way to deal with all the spammers isn't to just "Send To Trash" but to share in the fun of openly mocking them with you, the GV community! Today we received information about government grants from Leslie...

______

Grants program don't verify your credit and they dont need any kind of security deposits or co-signers. The strength of our firm is grants writing and we're dealing in grants writing services since 1999 and helped over 20,000 people claim grants from govt. Our company take fees only when our clients receive grant check from govt. That too only 10%. There's no risk to you at all. You send us our fees only when you've received the grants check. Please send your complete personal and professional details including the reason for which you're seeking govt grant.

Reply back to this email.

Regards,
Leslie

______

Hey Leslie,

$20k?!? No risk?!? We're very interested! I know we could definitely put that money to good use and spread the wealth around in all our free game shows, but before we sign on the dotted line I have a few questions.

What kind of grant would a website be eligible for? Unless it's labeled a "free cash prizes grant" I doubt we really apply. Speaking of applying, can we talk to a couple of your 20,000 satisfied clients? I'd love to hear some recommendations before we send over our personal and professional information. And why would you need my personal info anyways? Let me know your thoughts, looking forward to giving all this money away together!

Best,

- Oh! Ryan Kelley
