Wb294evr Wins $132 In Quick-Draw Poker, Contemplates New Purchases

Topic: Members

Wb294evrEarlier this month Gamesviller Wb294evr of Fairmount, GA, won a $132 jackpot playing Quick-Draw Poker here at Gamesville.

What does this lucky Gamesviller do for work? What's the story behind her Gamesville member name? Find out below...

Gamesville: Congratulations! What was it like when you realized you won?
I was rushing back to the computer after taking a break and was distracted talking to my hubby. The game started and I looked over from talking and said, 'Oh my goodness! I just won!' He quickly replied, 'You're funny.' I said, 'No! Look, I won!' We both looked at the screen with amazement; he and I were both very excited!

What will you spend your winnings on?
I would like some new tennis shoes and we'll probably use the rest to pay some bills around the house.

What do you do for a living?
I am a substitute teacher. I really enjoy working with kids. Of course there are those days when I have had all I can take of those hormonal teenagers. But all in all I love what I do.

What is your favorite month?
I guess may favorite month would be December, because it is when my hubby and I were married. I also really enjoy the Christmas season. It just seems that people are more giving and nicer during the winter holidays.

How would friends describe you?
My friends would probably describe me as 'different'.

What does your member name mean?
In my heart and mind I will forever be 29.

Thanks, Wb294evr - and congratulations again on your win!

Grace863 Wins A Quick $385 In CatchUp CoverAll At Gamesville

Topic: Members

Gamesville CatchUp CoverAll Winner!Congratulations to Gamesviller Grace863 of Prescott, AZ, who won a quick $385 yesterday playing CatchUp CoverAll.

Useless Fact!

Grace863's hometown of Prescott, AZ, is also home to the historical area known as "Whiskey Row", a business hub and notorious red-light district that existed until 1956. On Saturday, July 14th, 1900, a great fire swept through downtown Prescott with an uncontrollable fury, almost totally destroying the business district of the small mining town. As legend has it, with the water supply for the town a full block south, the patrons of the various bars simply took their drinks across the street to the Courthouse Square and watched the town burn. Learn more about Prescott's historic Whiskey Row...

Congratulations again to Grace863. Looking forward to seeing you all in the games this week and giving away loads more REAL cash prizes!

Human "Bed-Warmers" At Holiday Inn

Topic: Weird Wire™

It's chilly at night, and the fine folks at Holiday Inn have found an "innovative" way to warm things up:

International hotel chain Holiday Inn is offering a trial human bed-warming service at three hotels in Britain this month.

If requested, a willing staff-member at two of the chain's London hotels and one in the northern English city of Manchester will dress in an all-in-one fleece sleeper suit before slipping between the sheets.

"The new Holiday Inn bed warmers service is a bit like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed," Holiday Inn spokeswoman Jane Bednall said in an emailed statement to Reuters.

Sounds pretty cushy! I can see the job advertisements now: "Are you a clean, fresh-scented person? Willing to lay down on the job? Have we got a deal for you..."

Mckonna66 Wins $4,398 Playing Magic 21 Jackpot At Gamesville.com

Topic: Members

Prize Winner!Congratulations to Gamesviller Mckonna66 of Santa Rosa, CA, who won a staggering $4,398 yesterday playing Magic 21 Jackpot at Gamesville. This NASCAR-loving apartment manager has been a Gamesville member since 2006, and definitely knows how to play her cards right.

Useless Fact!

Mckonna66's hometown of Santa Rosa, CA, has the distinction of also being the hometown of famous horticulturist Luther Burbank -- inventor of the spineless cactus. Why did he need to invent a spineless cactus? So cattle could eat them more comfortably. Wacky cows. If you're ever in the area, be sure to visit Burbank's home and gardens.

Congratulations again to Mckonna66. And remember: You can't win if you don't play, so get in the game -- and hopefully next time it'll be your name up in lights!

GV Member Spotlight: Needlife2change

Topic: Members
Needlife2change Gamesvillers are the most interesting people — that's why we shine the GV Member Spotlight on them! This time, we're talking with Needlife2change from Salamanca, NY.

Want the GV Member Spotlight to shine on you? E-mail us at: members@gamesville.com

Gamesville: Thanks for taking some time to talk with us, Needlife2change. What inspired your member name?
I'm living with my parents right now because of the economy--there's no work out there! So, I thought "Needlife2change" would fit perfectly.

What kind of changes are you looking for?
Where to begin? I really need a job and I just want to be successful in life! If I can have a home with my husband, and a good job, then I would be happy.

What are you doing to make that change happen?
I'm going to college full time and have six months left on my A.S. degree in Human Services. My husband and I are moving out on our own the first week of February, which will be a positive change!

What's your favorite sound?
Michael Jackson. I really like his music and his talent.

Do you sing while you do your homework?
Of course! Although, whether I'm good at it or not is a different story!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
The Bahamas. When I see those commercials with the crystal clear blue water, I always think, "Man, I wish that was me."

Describe one life lesson you've learned the hard way.
To not move between states so much! I've been moving back and forth between the state where I grew up and the state where my husband is from. We've struggled financially because we kept moving--not to mention all the stress involved! We've recently made a decision, and now we're going to stick with it.

What's the best piece of advice you've heard recently?
To never give up on your dreams. If you want something bad enough and are willing to work at it, things will get better.

What's your favorite Gamesville game?
Three-Eyed Bingo because it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I also enjoy meeting all the nice people in the chat rooms.

Thanks for talking with us, Needlife2change -- hopefully your new degree brings new opportunities so the GV community can rejoice in your success!

Want the GV Member Spotlight to shine on you? E-mail us at: members@gamesville.com

KPK830 Shares Her Famous Scottish Cinnamon Oat Scones

Topic: Recipedia

Kpk830's Recipe for Scottish Cinnamon Oat SconesToday's recipe comes from Gamesviller Kpk830 who wanted to share a famous family breakfast treat, her delectable Scottish Cinnamon Oat Scones. Here's what she had to add about her crowd-pleasing creation, "I made these for breakfast this morning! I love scones but I am picky about the texture and flavors.  Some scones recipes I've tried can come out kind of bland, so I always add cinnamon and raisins or dried fruit to mine." Here's what you'll need to put together her delicious breakfast recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 c. melted butter
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/4 c. quick cooking oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. raisins (or dried cranberries)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425° F. In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients, then add butter, milk and egg in the bowl. Mix until all the ingredients are combined and stir in the raisins. Shape dough into a ball and then pat out on to lightly floured surface forming into 8-inch circle. Cut into circle into 8 wedges. Bake on greased cookie sheet 12 - 15 minutes, until golden brown.

Want to share your favorite recipe with the Gamesville community?

Tiger291950 Wins CatchUp CoverAll, Spoils Herself With Something Special

Topic: Members

Tiger291950Last month Gamesviller Tiger291950 of LaGrange, OH, won a giant jackpot of $788 playing CatchUp CoverAll.

Will she be saving or spending all that prize money? What's the story behind her Gamesville member name? Find out below...

Gamesville: Congratulations! What was it like when you realized you won?
I was in total shock when I won, especially since I was going to take a nap and decided to play one more game and won! I'm sure everyone in the room may have thought I was being rude since I didn't speak in chat, I just yelled for my son to come look saying over and over 'I don't believe it!' I just started calling everyone telling them I couldn't believe I won!

What will you spend your winnings on?
I am not sure what I will spend the money on. I do want to save some since the economy is not fully recovered. You could say I do appreciate a dollar more nowadays. I will buy myself something special--I had a small cross necklace that I really liked and lost, so I think I will splurge on myself and buy a new one.

What's your favorite month of the year?
My favorite month has to be December now, that's the month I won BIG after all the years playing on Gamesville!

What songs could you listen to for the rest of your life?
I am really into country music, so my three songs would be:

  • Alan Jackson - It's Five O'clock Somewhere
  • Alan Jackson - Sissy's Song
  • Toby Keith - American Ride

How would friends describe you?
My friends would describe me as sensitive.

What does your member name mean?
When I first got my computer one of my sons gave me my first screen name, Tiger291950. I'm not sure why he chose Tiger, but the numbers hold special meaning for me.

What type of game would you like to see Gamesville create next?
I really enjoy slots and play Pit Stop Slots a lot, so I would like to see Gamesville add another slot game.

Thanks, Tiger291950 - and congratulations again on your win!
